Transformer

Discovery :-
The name "transformer" was created by Bláthy. In 1885 the ZBD model alternating-current transformer was invented by three Hungarian engineers: Ottó Bláthy, Miksa Déri and Károly Zipernowsky. (ZBD comes from the initials of their names). In the autumn of 1889 he patented the AC watt-meter.

Discussion :-
Transformer is used to convert the AC voltage from low to high or high to low.
So the Current will decrease or increase.
The work principal of transformer is based on the 'Electromagnetic Inductin' rule.
There are two copper coil covered a iron core. One of them(coils) is called Primary Coil and the other is called Secondery Coil.
The ends of the primary coil works as the input and the end of the secondary coil works as the output.
The Input and Output voltege depands on the  number of turns of each coil.

Vs/Vp = Ns/Np
Where,
Vs - The output voltage of the secondary coil.
Vp - The input voltage of the primary coil.
Ns - Number of turns of the secondary coil.
Np - Number of turns of the primary coil.
